Menopause & Lifestyle Physician

Medical support for women in peri-menopause and menopause
After working for twenty years as an anesthesiologist in academic hospitals, I chose to focus on preventive medicine. In my work as an anesthesiologist, I had the opportunity to build a broad foundation of knowledge by working, learning, and teaching in high-performance environments. At the same time, I unfortunately also witnessed the consequences of less than optimal health guidance. I met many women with conditions that could potentially have been prevented if intervention had occurred twenty years earlier — from hip fractures to vascular problems and more.
That's why I further specialized in menopause, lifestyle medicine, and sports medicine. Sport and movement have always been a passion of mine. Already during my training, I taught indoor cycling and group running sessions to people from very diverse backgrounds. It gives me genuine pleasure to see how people achieve goals that once seemed unreachable, and to witness their growth up close.
Who am I beyond that? A great animal lover, someone for whom family and friends are one of the most beautiful gifts life has to offer, and a mother of two teenagers. Every person, and every woman, is unique. I guide you with enthusiasm, respect, and genuine commitment to help you feel as good as possible in your own skin. A good collaboration starts with an extensive conversation in which we reflect on your history, complaints, and wishes. Together we explore the possibilities and then create a treatment plan that suits you, and that you feel completely comfortable with.
What does a treatment plan involve? Hormone replacement therapy (bio-identical) if possible and desired, along with adjustments until this is optimally regulated, combined with lifestyle advice in all its aspects.
